Contacts

Manage your dealership's customer contact records, view conversation history, and handle unsubscribed users.

The Contacts section is a CRM-style view of every customer who has interacted with your dealership through DealerAI. Use it to look up individual customers, review their history, and manage communication preferences.

Overview

A contact record is created (or updated) whenever a customer engages with DealerAI across any channel. All interactions — conversations, appointments, lead history — are linked to their contact record.

Contacts List

The main view is a searchable data table. Each row represents one contact and shows:

Use the search bar to find contacts by name, phone number, or email address.

Contact Detail

Click any contact row to open their detail page, which includes:

  • Profile — full contact information including all known phone numbers and email addresses
  • Conversation history — a chronological list of all conversations with this customer
  • Appointments — any appointments booked for this customer
  • Lead history — leads linked to this contact
  • Notes — free-text notes added by your team

Editing a Contact

From the contact detail page, click Edit to update:

  • Name, phone number, and email address
  • Tags and labels for segmentation
  • Any additional profile fields your organisation uses

Unsubscribed Users

The Unsubscribed Users view (accessible from the Contacts page via the sidebar) lists all contacts who have opted out of SMS or email communications.

Contacts on the unsubscribed list will not receive any automated messages from DealerAI, including Reach sequences and appointment reminders. Do not attempt to re-subscribe customers without their explicit consent.

A contact is added to the unsubscribed list when they:

  • Reply with STOP via SMS
  • Click an unsubscribe link in an email
  • Are manually marked as unsubscribed by a staff member

Exporting Contacts

Where your plan permits, use the Export button at the top of the contacts table to download contact data as a CSV for use in external systems.
